Electro-Mechanical Technician

this position performs electro-mechanical technician functions to ensure that WVHK’s healthcare and safety equipment is well-maintained, properly configured, and safely functional. The position inventories, services, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on complex electronic and mechanical equipment in accordance with codes, regulations and directives, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards. The position establishes, calibrates, and tests equipment used in skilled nursing, emergency, and restorative care; respiratory, physical, occupational, and speech therapy; member monitoring, ambulation, safe handling, and personal hygiene; liquid oxygen delivery vessels, member wandering and nurse call systems, access control systems, camera systems, and similar.

Minimally qualified applicants will provide details about their experience:

  • Reading schematics and diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic equipment
  • Utilizing electronics tools 

Additional required and preferred experience that will be assessed later in the selection process are:

  • Following safety practices, including using personal protective equipment; and
  • Pulling and testing low-voltage cabling; and
  • Troubleshooting and repairing low-voltage cabling; and/or
  • Maintaining and repairing safety & security systems; and/or
  • Maintaining and repairing communications systems; and/or
  • Maintaining and repairing healthcare equipment

This position works 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.

Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
