Office Assistant For Documentary Film Production Company

We are a documentary production company located in North Hollywood (very close to the arts district). We also run a voice-over recording studio for actors. Additionally, we also have an event planning company that specializes in offering a wide variety of entertainment such as balloon twisters, face painters, jugglers, stilt walkers, caricaturists and clowns for celebrations, birthday parties, and festivals.

We are looking for a part time Office Assistant who will assist us in our office with various tasks including but not limited to:

  • Video editing, editing a variety of short videos from iPhone and professional camera footage
  • Simple audio recording, recording voice over auditions (very easy to learn and we can teach you how to do this)
  • Graphic design, creating flyers, posters and simple logos
  • DIT/Data management, transferring video files and photos to external hard drives, sending video files via WeTransfer
  • Filming various acting, self-tape video auditions and editing them (filmed via our business iPhone)
  • Social media: managing various Instagram and YouTube accounts, posting photos/videos on social media platforms weekly
  • Posting film/photography location listings/ads on location rental sites: Giggster and Peerspace
  • Creating location agreement contracts and sending location rental invoices (we can teach you how to do this)
  • Managing and organizing a long list of film/photography filming location rentals in Excel
  • Running occasional office errands
  • Other general administrative duties (emailing, web research, phone calls etc...)

We do also need minimal assistance with our event planning company, which includes:

  • Corresponding with clients and talent. Scheduling talent for events and keeping track of multiple excel sheets with client and talent contacts
  • Managing business phone line. Answering calls, texts and requests for services, as well as daily texting with talent and artists
  • Creating invoices and invoicing clients using Paypal (we can teach you this)
  • Updating and posting on our company Instagram page about twice a week
     

We are seeking someone that is available for about 5-15 hours a week. We offer a very flexible schedule from Monday to Sunday (weekends are not mandatory but optional if you're only available on those days). 

Pay is $17.87/hr.

Applicant must have:

  • GarageBand, Audition, Audacity or any other similar/comparable audio recording software (Audacity is free and can be downloaded online)
  • Some Photoshop, Canva or similar graphic design experience required
  • Proficient/expert computer skills, must be very computer savvy and know how to learn and use a wide variety of media (audio/video)
  • Excellent and proficient English writing, speaking and written composition skills
  • Video editing skills and software, applicant must have intermediate video editing skills
  • You must own your own laptop (we do not provide a computer for you)
  • Self-initiative, being able to work and figure things out on your own with minimal supervision
  • Some experience using Google docs and Google drive
  • Your own vehicle or have reliable transportation
  • Plus if you own your own professional camera and have some videography experience!

If you are a student, we are definitely open to temporary work, seasonal work or year round work. Whatever works best for your schedule. At the moment, remote work is not available as we are looking for someone to work in person at our office.
