Exceptional Student Services Clerk

Salary Range:

$16.00 - $22.00 USD hourly.

The Exceptional Student Services Clerk (ESS) will support the ASU Prep ESS team with clerical tasks such as scheduling meetings with required members, proofreading evaluations and managing calendars. The ESS Clerk will work collaboratively with the school psychologist and the entire ESS team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).

1 year of experience with Special Education Disabilities

Experience with Microsoft Office programs including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Bilingual Spanish, Preferred

Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with school staff, providers, and families to schedule meetings based on mutual availability

Assist in processing and routing student paperwork, including gathering information from families and staff members

Manage the assignment, distribution, and receipt of school psychologist-directed rating scales 

Gather and update demographic and testing data for students, as requested by the school psychologist

Receive and place necessary phone calls, including voice mail, and take accurate messages.

Maintain a filing system that manages all necessary paperwork, including student files.

Assist with preparation for audits, as needed

Prepare necessary correspondence for the school psychologist.

Work closely with lead school psychologist on special projects

Maintain and protect the confidentiality of students.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and web-based applications is essential

Must have courteous telephone manners, the ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and students, good work attitude with a positive and pleasant disposition

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational skills

Ability to be independently effective and efficient

TRAVEL: 

Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
