Marketing Assistant and Resident Advisor

Summary: Dual Role - Marketing Assistant / Resident Life Advisor - Two Openings

 

The primary focus of the Marketing Assistant position is to support the needs of the Marketing Department related gameday coverage and general content. The individual within this role serves as a storyteller, highlighting and telling the unique story of the Barca Residency Academy experience through the creation of compelling content.

The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for gameday coverage of featured games, contributing to the creative content strategy, and producing digital content to support the digital marketing plan. This position will require knowledge of various post-production software, emerging trends in video, photography, motion graphics, and social media. The Marketing Assistant must meet deadlines and same-day turnarounds. This position will require event coverage on some nights and weekends and will require travel.

The Resident Advisor (RA) serves as an educator, counselor, administrator, role model and team member for the Barça residents. The RA works to create and maintain a healthy environment for the academic, athletic and personal growth of the students. The nature of the position is such that its responsibilities are determined not so much by a time clock or a calendar, but by the needs of residents. Some periods will require more time than average, and responsibilities will arise that cannot always be anticipated and scheduled.

The RA position, by its very nature, requires an individual who is acutely sensitive to the needs of students; can be flexible regarding time demands, is willing and able to relate to a wide variety of individuals; is knowledgeable about the student-athlete experience, can perform essential administrative tasks, and has a genuine desire to be of service to others. The RA staff must use their influential position to positively impact the student athletes, their families and be a positive reflection of our organization at all times despite personal bias.

 

Marketing Assistant Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing to execute the social media marketing plan.
  • Provide gameday coverage at assigned games and tournaments; including but not limited to live tweets, still photos, videos, story posts, and written articles.
  • Create attention-grabbing videos, including but not limited to weekly highlights, player features, hype videos, promotional videos, testimonials, and interviews.
  • Shoot and produce photo assets for the website, social media, and marketing material.
  • Maintaining a detailed project calendar, anticipating media needs, and delivering projects on time.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Residence Life and Marketing Department ensuring that off-the-field events and activities are captured and highlighted.
  • Attend Resident Life events and meet quick turnarounds to post photos and/or videos on the same day that event occurs. Consistency in brand guidelines and messaging related to content and posting.
  • Assist the Marketing Director with all other duties assigned. Programming & Community Development

RA Responsibilities

  • RA may reside on site. RA will be expected to assume some “RA-On Duty” night and weekend shifts.
  • Organize extracurricular activities for residents. Coordinate sign ups and encourage positive participation.
  • Assists the academy on some occasions with assigned operational tasks. Including but not limited to laundry, cleaning, management of student-athletes in the locker-room. Assist with the cleanliness maintenance of the locker-room, dorms, PC, equipment, etc.
  • Supervise assigned service hours and mandatory study hall sessions.
  • Supervise the players cleaning up after eating in the dining lounge.
  • Actively participates in the development of weekly schedules, itineraries and calendars designed to coordinate to the needs of residents.
  • Respond promptly to texts, calls and email, especially from the Director of Residence Life, staff, students and parents. Update log accurately.
  • Complete all paperwork, recaps and assignments as requested and submit them in a timely manner.

  • Skill in communications, interpersonal skills in interaction with students, teachers, parents and members of the Francisco Grande team.
  • Skill in mentoring and providing leadership to students.
  • Skill in organizing a variety of activities and events for students.
  • Skill in recognizing, analyzing and developing solutions to a variety of problem situations as they relate to residency students.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Computer proficient in Excel, Word and Google Drive.
  • Knowledge of sports is essential.
  • In addition to items noted above, ability to walk the property, climb stairs, ability to stand, ability to lift 50 lbs.

 

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Clean driver's license is required
