Paralegal

Kline, Gardner, & O’Connor, a respected law firm located in Gloucester, MA, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. We specialize in real estate, probate, estate planning, and landlord/tenant law. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and client-focused—with a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents in real estate, probate, and estate planning matters
  • Proofread legal documents and ensure accuracy
  • Retrieve and review documents from courts, municipal offices, Registry of Deeds, and Land Court
  • Draft real estate closing packages and manage pre- and post-closing tasks
  • Conduct legal and title-related research and prepare summary reports
  • Participate in client meetings, phone calls, and document signings
  • Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in-person
  • Maintain and organize client files and internal procedures
  • Coordinate special projects and assist attorneys with administrative/legal tasks
  • Manage digital and physical filing systems and information flow

Qualifications

  • Prior paralegal experience required; experience in real estate and probate strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with E-Close or other real estate software preferred
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Self-starter with a strong problem-solving mindset
  • Notary Public license is a plus
  • Must demonstrate confidentiality and professionalism at all times
