The Office of Recovery Services (ORS) is a division within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), whose primary mission is to promote responsibility. They help ensure that parents are financially responsible for their children by providing child support services and support for children in care, and help ensure public funds are used appropriately through our Medicaid Recovery efforts.

Starting Pay: $16.50
The Accounting Technician III is a senior level job. Under minimal supervision, they independently assist with the in-office tasks outlined in the job description below.
Job Responsibilities:
- Return/forward checks that are sent to ORS but are unable to be processed for payment.
- Maintain problem check log with payments being returned that cannot be posted (reject batches/tracers).
- Create deposit for foreign checks and contact Fed Ex for pickup.
- Verify and signoff batches process through Opex machine. Place batches in the filing cabinet.
- Maintain checks and backup that needs to be shredded after 30 days.
- Validate batches from Opex machine.
- May help validate and/or post payments.
- Assist with completing forms to offset incorrect postings using Microsoft Word and ORSIS.
- Order supplies for Accounting Unit.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience using Gmail, Google Meet, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent typing skills with proficiency in 10-key by touch
- Proficiency in learning new software programs and protocols
- Basic math and balancing skills
- Ability communicate professionally in both verbal and written formats
- Ability to work under limited supervision, utilizing time-management and prioritization strategies
- Ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time
- Dexterity due to needing to unclip binders, take off elastics, and use a lot of finger, hand, wrist, arm, shoulder motion
