Job title: Sheet Metal Foreman Supervisor

Location: West Valley City, UT 84119 

Job Type: Full-Time

About Us: KHI Mechanical Services was incorporated in 2002 as a design/build mechanical contracting company. We specialize in design, installation, service and maintenance of mechanical systems for commercial, industrial facilities and small businesses. KHI Mechanical Services has completed over $130 million in projects since it was incorporated. KHI’s team consists of experienced project managers, engineers, foreman, pipefitters, sheet metal workers and service technicians. All of our journeymen are trained, tested, and certified through the union trade school programs. KHI Mechanical Services offers a variety of different services in the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding areas. KHI Mechanical is a member of the Local 140 Utah Pipefitters, Plumbers and HVAC-R.

Foreman Responsibilities 

  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Plan long-term and short-term work
    • Adjust plans as necessary to accommodate schedules etc.
  • Communicate with workers, company owners, general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers as necessary.
  • Lead daily stretch and flex
  • Complete daily job hazard analysis
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings
  • Complete short interval schedules
    • Short term interval schedule for the upcoming week to be completed NLT 3pm every Friday and submitted to Project Manager NLT Monday morning
  • Complete foreman pre-task checklist
  • Complete work orders
  • Complete material order sheets
  • Attend foreman meetings
  • Enforce company safety rules
  • Plans, coordinates, and delegates sheet metal projects to subordinates to ensure department meets expectations and deadlines.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with owners(s), general contractor, employer(s) labor, subcontractor(s) and material suppliers
  • Hire metal trades person when at five (5) employees on site
    • Metal trades will be responsible for all material handling
    • Metal trades will be responsible for tool preparation in the morning and clean-up in the evening
    • Monitor work shifts
