Idea Lab Kids has been voted as one of the Best Youth STEM Enrichment Program in Ausitn for the past 3 years! Join our amazing team as we provide amazing STEM Curriculum for ages 5-12 years old!


What we are looking for:
Currently, Idea Lab Kids is looking for dedicated youth educators for the current school year that are looking to develop skills and experience in a classroom setting, using developed Idea Lab Curriculum to guide each class. This is not only a position for future teachers, but also coaches, counselors, engineers, IT professionals and so much more. The STEM curriculum that Idea Lab Covers is tremendous.


Examples of Camp and Class Themes

  • Lego Robotics
  • 3D Design and Printing
  • Coding and Programming
  • Cooking
  • Specialty Art and Science
  • All types of Engineering (from Simple Machines to Simple Circuits)

We have 2 campus locations, and we also work with schools around the Austin area providing after school enrichment.

Idea Lab Central - 8620 Burnet Rd.
Idea Lab NW Austin - 13642 Research Blvd


Classroom management skills are highly weighted, as are your individual STEM skillsets. Those who provide an specific cover letter with regard to this position will be offered an interview at a higher rate.

Other Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Ability to manage a group of 8-12 students through exciting, 1 hour filled with lessons and stimulating activities.
  • Classroom management skills to work with assigned age groups.
  • Organization skills needed for managing class supplies.
  • Working on daily setup and clean up for camp classrooms.
  • Learn and teach the Idea Lab Curriculum to create a stimulating and enriching after-school experience.
  • Comfortable interaction with parents.
  • Comfortable with technology and capable of learning new things.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Background Check Clearance Required before starting.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs from car to classroom

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule:

  • 2:15-6:15pm at our main location (M-F with a minimum committment of 3 days)
  • Alternatively, there are shorter shifts of 2 hours teaching after school clubs at schools in the austin area ($40/hour of class taught, usually one per day)

Experience:

  • Classroom Experience with ages 5-12 years old is preferred

Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred, will need to obtain)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred, will need to obtain)
