Front Desk/Medical Assistant

Miami Dermatology & Mohs Surgery is excited to offer a Front Desk/Medical Assistant position perfect for pre-medical students who plan to take a gap year. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Patient Care: Medical Assistants are responsible for preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and assisting with patient histories. They are also responsible for assisting with surgeries, biopsies, injections, and other dermatologic procedures. They play a crucial role in ensuring patients are comfortable and ready for consultation with the doctor.

Scribing: In this role, the Medical Assistant works alongside physicians, documenting patient encounters, which helps them become proficient in medical terminology and the clinical decision-making process.

Dermatology: Medical Assistants will have the opportunity to learn about dermatological conditions, treatments, and procedures, gaining specialized knowledge in an important field of healthcare.

Research: They will assist in clinical research projects, including data collection, analysis, and helping prepare research findings. This provides valuable experience for those interested in the scientific side of medicine.

Front Desk Interaction: Medical Assistants are also involved in administrative tasks such as patient intake, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records. This aspect of the role hones communication and organizational skills.
