Site Coordinator
Club Compass is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and dependable Site Coordinator to oversee all aspects of two Club Compass sites. This role is responsible for planning, preparing, and managing the weekly club sessions while serving as the primary liaison between students, parents, volunteers, school staff, and Compass for Kids.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth, coordinating logistics, and fostering strong relationships with diverse individuals. The Site Coordinator ensures a structured, high-quality program where volunteers can build meaningful, positive relationships with students while supporting their social-emotional learning and development.

Responsibilities:
Program Management
Goal: Implement a structured, consistent, high-quality program
● Plan and oversee program logistics, including volunteer assignments, supplies, and enrichment activities
● Manage site operations, ensuring smooth execution of weekly club activities
● Recruit, train, manage, and support volunteers, providing guidance on classroom/behavior management and evidence-based social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum
● Implement effective behavior management strategies to create a positive and engaging learning environment
● Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
● Coordinate and provide student transportation using a personal or company-owned vehicle (12-passenger van), including: ○ Picking up students from school and transporting them to the program site ○ Driving students for field trips ○ Taking students home when necessary
Relationship-Building, “Customer” Service & Retention
● Cultivate strong relationships with volunteers, ensuring retention and satisfaction
● Collaborate with community partners and school staff, including teachers, administrators, and family engagement teams
● Serve on the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Team of the assigned school
● Represent Club Compass at school events and volunteer initiatives
● Foster meaningful connections with students and families to encourage participation and program success
Recordkeeping/Data tracking
● Track student attendance, behavior referrals, and assessments at school and during Club
● Collect and analyze program data, including pre- and post-social-emotional surveys and income verification
● Document and share success stories to highlight program impact
● Maintain accurate volunteer records, including contact information and service hours
Qualifications
Required:
● Minimum two years of experience working with underserved youth
● Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, and verbal)
● Proficiency in internet-based tools (Google Drive, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar)
● Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
● Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team setting
Preferred:
● Experience managing volunteers
Requirements
● Ability to be on feet for long periods of time
● Two years’ experience working with underserved children required, minimum
● Experience managing volunteers, preferred
● Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and car insurance
● Ability to successfully pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check
● Food Manager’s certification (can be completed once hired)
Compensation: This is a part-time position. The pay is $20.00/hour
Benefits Included:
● 1 hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked, subject to terms of Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act

Weekly hours:
This position is for approximately 28 hours per week. The successful candidate must be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 7 PM during the school year when Club Compass operates (shift would likely be approximately 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM). The remainder of hours are flexible throughout the week, to be scheduled with the School Year Program Manager . Occasional nights and weekends will be required for special events.
This position will be in place from August 2025 through May 2026. However, candidates may be eligible to work at our summer program, Camp Compass in June and July.
