Landscape Sales & Project Manager – J.W. Townsend Landscaping
J.W. Townsend Landscaping is seeking a motivated and experienced Landscape Sales & Project Manager to join our team in Central Virginia. This role combines client relationship building, project development, and marketing outreach to help deliver high-quality landscape construction and hardscaping projects.
Responsibilities:
Client Development & Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients and industry contacts.
- Conduct site visits and meetings to understand client goals, budget, and expectations.
- Follow up on assigned leads and maintain ongoing client communication.
- Focus on expanding the company’s presence in hardscaping and landscape construction.
- Serve as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to expand services based on client needs.
Project Development & Management
- Collaborate with clients to conceptualize projects, including design, materials, and budgeting.
- Prepare detailed estimates, proposals, and project plans.
- Coordinate subcontractors and internal production teams.
- Ensure smooth project handoffs and follow through to completion.
- Assist with invoicing and client follow-up.
- Participate in internal meetings to stay aligned with company goals.
Marketing
- Represent the company at community events, trade shows, and professional associations.
- Support the creation of marketing materials and project portfolios.
- Help identify new business opportunities through networking and outreach.
- Share project success stories with internal teams to promote services.
Qualifications:
- Must reside in the Central Virginia area.
- Strong knowledge of Zone 6 and 7 plant materials.
- Ability to communicate ideas visually.
- Professional demeanor with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid Virginia driver’s license.
- Degree in horticulture, landscape construction, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in landscape or construction sales/management preferred.
