After-School Program Staff

At Capitol Hill Day School, learning is challenging, engaging, playful, and relevant to the real world. Students learn across subjects through an experiential curriculum that integrates academic subjects, the arts, physical education, service learning, and technology. Through an extensive field education program, students participate in experiences beyond the classroom related to study topics.

Teachers collaborate in developing, planning, and implementing curriculum; school-wide, they create a spirit of camaraderie through their interactions with students, parents, and other staff members. Also essential to the School's program is its commitment to diversity, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and learning styles learn from and with one another. Emphasis is placed on building a classroom community that respects each individual while teaching children how to become caring, engaged group members.

Capitol Hill Day School students graduate with a love of learning, strong critical thinking abilities, an understanding of essential ideas, and a healthy sense of self. Students develop a deep respect for their community and diversity in all its forms.

Capitol Hill Day School seeks creative and dynamic candidates to work in our after-school program for the 2025-2026 school year, beginning September 2nd to June 11th. The School has an experiential approach to education, which is apparent through hands-on activities. The After-School Program staff is expected to engage with children each afternoon thoughtfully. The team is also responsible for children's health, well-being, and safety. Positions are part-time, with approximately 17 hours each week, from 2:30-6:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 1:30-6:00 on Wednesdays.
