Erikson Institute, a graduate school in child development located in downtown Chicago, is seeking to hire a part-time Library Associate for the Fall 2025 semester and beyond. The Library Associate is primarily responsible for staffing the information desk and assisting library users both in person and virtually. This can include technology or research instruction, reference, and general circulation procedures. Additionally, the Library Associate will be assigned other duties based on experience, interest, and library need. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Course reserve processing using Ares reserves software
- Digital archives scanning and metadata creation using CONTENTdm
- Interlibrary loan using ILLiad software
- Website maintenance with LibGuides
- Outreach and marketing
This part-time position is scheduled for 15 to 20 hours per week. The shifts will likely be 10am to 6pm two of the following days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Please do not apply unless you are available to work these shifts.
Future semester shifts will be determined by the needs of the library and the schedule of the successful candidate.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Library Science or related field master’s degree program
- Evidence of strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexibility appropriate for a dynamic, collaborative work setting
Desired Qualifications:
- Subject background in Education, Psychology, Human Development, or Social Work
- Public service experience in an academic library (e.g. Reference and/or Instruction)
