
Elementary Educator
Our group has grown, and we have a last-minute Elementary Educator position open at Wildwood!
Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and fostering a deep connection with nature? Wildwood Acres Farm & Forest School (Pre-K through Grade 8) offers a unique opportunity to shape the future through experiential education in a vibrant outdoor setting. Our small program—with mixed class sizes from 5-10 students—blends traditional academics with hands-on learning in agriculture, ecology, practical arts, and sustainable living.
We’re seeking a dedicated educator who loves working with elementary-aged children and has a profound appreciation for the natural world and animals, to join our growing team. Interest in Waldorf-inspired education a plus!
Key Qualifications:
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with children
- Strong commitment to environmental education
- Flexibility and adaptability in an outdoor learning environment
- Interest in embracing neurodiversity and the unique gifts each child brings to a class
- Empathetic and trauma-informed with a social-emotional focus
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant education or experience in teaching, environmental studies, or related fields
Position Details:
- Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM from September - June
- Additional: 1 hour of prep work + 1.5 hours of staff meetings per week (outside of teaching hours - all paid) More hours often available as barn support if desired.
- Community: Join at least 4 community events per school year (paid)
- Compensation: $23–$25/hour, depending on experience
- Benefits: 50% tuition remission, summers and breaks off with opportunities to earn via Summer Camp.
