+ About the Role
The Animation Annotation Specialist is a practitioner who analyzes and annotates the unique performance of global animation traditions. In this role, you will evaluate sequences from cartoons, marking key stylistic elements such as stylized exaggeration, symbolic motion, lip-sync differences, and genre-specific pacing.
This role supports the mission of training AI systems that understand not only how characters move and speak, but also how different animation cultures convey emotion, timing, and story. Your contributions will ensure models capture the expressive depth that makes animation so distinct.
+ Responsibilities
Annotate animated sequences with markers for exaggeration, symbolic movement, and pacing.
Collaborate with quality assurance leads to validate annotation consistency across animation styles.
+ Who We Are Looking For
Animation professionals, scholars, or enthusiasts with deep knowledge of anime and Western cartoon traditions.
Familiarity with stylistic conventions: limited animation, motion smears, exaggeration, comedic timing, and pacing.
Ability to apply consistent, structured annotations across varied animation samples.
Strong observational and analytical skills, breaking down creative nuance into explicit guidelines.
Prior experience with major studios (e.g., DreamWorks, Cartoon Network) or academic study of animation a plus.
