Dance Instructor

Five Ducks Foundation is seeking an energetic and creative Dance Instructor to lead weekly dance classes for children in grades K–2, 3–5, and 6-8. The instructor will teach hip-hop and a variety of modern dances (also salsa, bachata, and merengue) helping children build confidence, coordination, and an appreciation for diverse styles of movement.

Pay Rate: $50 per class 

Responsibilities:

• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate dance classes once a week for two groups (K–2, 3–5, and 6-8) 

• Introduce students to hip-hop fundamentals as well as cultural dances from African American and Latinx traditions.

• Create a fun, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages self-expression and teamwork.

• Incorporate basic performance techniques and opportunities for children to showcase their skills.

• Collaborate with program staff to ensure classes align with the foundation’s youth enrichment goals.
 

Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or performing hip-hop and/or cultural dance styles.

• Background in working with children, preferably in group settings.

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

• Passion for sharing dance as a tool for cultural pride and community building.
