Arts & Crafts Instructor

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Arts & Crafts Instructor to design and lead hands-on art activities for children in grades K–8. The instructor will encourage creativity, build fine motor and problem-solving skills, and foster a fun, inclusive environment where every child feels successful.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead engaging arts & crafts projects (painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, seasonal crafts, etc.) tailored to children’s age levels.
  • Incorporate educational elements that support self-expression, teamwork, and cultural appreciation.
  • Prepare and organize all materials, ensuring a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Supervise children during activities, promoting positive behavior, safety, and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with Five Ducks staff to integrate crafts into special events (Color Wars, Family Fun Day, Camp Five Ducks, etc.).
  • Encourage creativity, celebrate effort, and build children’s confidence in their artistic abilities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and respectful learning environment

Qualifications

  • Experience in art education, early childhood education, or youth enrichment programs preferred.
  • Strong skills in visual arts, crafts, or related creative fields.
  • Ability to engage and manage groups of children with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • High-energy, positive attitude, and passion for working with youth.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.
  • Must complete background check and required training.
     

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time, after-school, evenings sessions (flexible scheduling depending on program needs).

Pay Rate:  $22-$25 an hour
