About Threebie
Threebie is a pre-launch grocery tech startup based in Los Angeles. We’re creating a “universal grocery shopping and fulfillment platform” that connects stores, products, and customers. Our infrastructure is based on a microservices architecture model and leverages bare metal servers and the modern open source ecosystem optimized to run on Linux.
We’re looking for a self-driven, hands-on, systems thinker to join our team as an infrastructure systems engineer.

Stack you’ll use: Proxmox VE, KVM, LXC, HAProxy, Node.js, Nest.js, TypeScript, Python, MinIO (S3), PostgreSQL, Debian, Rocky Linux (RHEL), GitLab CI/CD, and various remote AI retrieval models.
What you’ll do:
• Build containerized LXC containers with pre-defined Node.js environments
• Compile and build microservices in containers using GitLab CI/CD
• Research, prototype, deploy, and test data and process flow integrations across our
architecture stack
• Instrument logs, metrics, and alerts
• Document and automate processes for repeatability and QA
Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications:
• Working familiarity with open source app ecosystems
• Strong Linux fundamentals
• Networking foundations: routing, switching, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS
• Understanding of APIs and service-to-service communication
• Solid grasp of virtualization and containers
• Foundational grasp of Git-based workflows
• Working proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: TypeScript,
JavaScript, Python
Bonus Points For:
• Experience with PostgreSQL (without an ORM)
• Experience with low-level systems architecture and Linux internals
• Past projects demonstrating creativity and self-driven initiative
We strongly prefer current or recent grads in EECS or computer engineering, but will consider all candidates with equivalent or comparable experience.
