IS Technical Support Senior
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) is recruiting for an IS Technical Support Senior position located in Union Grove.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45am-4:30pm.

SWC is a state operated Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities located in Union Grove, WI. This position is headquartered at SWC and remote work is not available for this position.

Position Summary
In the IS Technical Support position, you will provide IS support to customers at SWC. Partnering with other DHS Divisions, you will work to maintain high level system operations ensuring security, confidentiality, and reliability of IS services provided to SWC customers. This includes resolving conflicts and problems through IS concepts, principles, and practices in accordance with agency wide IS policies and standards. You will be responsible for a wide range of technologies. Overview of duties include:
- Providing desktop, application, print, hardware and software support and VOIP Phone Support
- New employee onboarding and computer training, and offboarding of employees
- Coordinating and implementing software updates, including Windows updates
- Managing Security cameras, temperature screening kiosks, and NVR’s/Video
- Supporting and troubleshooting Fuelmaster fueling system
- Troubleshooting Employee Health Record (EHR) in coordination with DHS IS partners
- Creating and maintaining SWC SharePoint site
- Supporting Remote Applications (i.e. MS TEAMS, Zoom) and maintaining/configuring Apple IOS devices
- Providing graphic arts support including video/photo editing
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $34.50 and $39.00 per hour (approximately between $71,700 and $81,100 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an IS Comprehensive Services Senior and is in pay schedule and range 07/34.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have both of the following:
- Experience providing technical support to end users (e.g., installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of desktop operating systems, software applications and hardware, etc.).
- Experience providing IT customer support via phone, internal remote, or deskside using IT ticketing software.
- Experience installing or supporting MS Windows 11 and Office 365 Suite applications.
- Experience imaging and troubleshooting desktop PC’s and Laptops.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience supporting users in a LAN/WAN, Microsoft Windows networking environment and remote access configurations including VPN.
- Experience providing IT/IS support in a healthcare environment (e.g., hospital, residential facility, treatment center, nursing home, etc.).
