Data & ML Engineer Rotational Development Program

CATALYST, AGCO's rotational development program, is designed to offer in-depth career experiences, ongoing mentorship, and targeted training across a range of business areas. You will be immersed in meaningful experiences that directly make a difference. Full-time CATALYST positions allow you to rotate through two or more business areas over 18 months, helping you prepare for your next career steps within AGCO. 

We are looking for someone who is excited about a career in Data & Machine Learning (ML) and enthusiastic about providing industry-leading smart farming solutions to sustainably feed our world. This program offers to enhance knowledge in model training. From data ingest and aggregation, to scalable training jobs, and evaluating what actual improvements our customers should expect. You’ll join a talented team with experts in artificial intelligence, computer vision, embedded Linux, and agronomy.

Program Start Dates: January or May 2026.

 

Your Impact

Responsibilities may vary based on experience, skillset, and assigned rotations:

  • Design, build, and automate robust production data pipelines using AWS Step Functions, Lambdas, and S3.
  • Conduct machine learning experiments and evaluate model outcomes to improve our product for our customers.
  • Analyze model failure cases, identifying patterns, and communicating what our models are learning to the rest of the team.
  • Join agronomists in the field to see our models perform live, understand the real-world conditions our customers face, and bring those insights back to inform the next development sprint.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future. 
  • Recent graduate or current student on track to complete a bachelor’s degree before the start date, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with core data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/Pytorch).
  • Familiar with cloud technologies for model development and deployment.
  • A resourceful, problem-solving mindset with the ability to break down ambiguous challenges into concrete steps.
  • Previous internships with AGCO or similar industries preferred.

 

Your Compensation

This position will pay within the range of $80,000-$85,000, based on experience. This position is eligible for a bonus based on 7% of compensation.
