Investment Analyst Development Program (Hybrid)

At Securian Asset Management, we’re looking for driven, curious, and analytical early-career professionals to join our two-year Investment Analyst Development Program. This rotational program gives you the tools, exposure, and mentorship you need to thrive in the world of investments.
The Investment Analyst Development Program at Securian Asset Management is a two-year rotational program designed to cultivate the skills necessary for a successful career in investment management. Participants will gain exposure to multiple public and private fixed income asset classes as they support analysts and portfolio managers in the management of the $33 billion insurance company general account.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS:
- Two-year program with opportunities for advancement.
- Assignments across multiple fixed income asset classes.
- On-the-job training to build industry knowledge and skills.
- One-on-one mentoring with senior investment professionals.
- Sponsored pursuit of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with senior investment analysts to produce investment recommendations.
- Generate and present proprietary credit research.
- Build spreadsheets and utilize analytics software and databases (Bloomberg) for credit and industry analysis, investment monitoring and portfolio reporting.
- Engage with issuer representatives and sell-side analysts.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as needed to support the investment decision making process.
- Leverage generative AI tools to gather data from a wide range of sources (e.g. prospectuses, financial statements, third-party research) used for public and private market credit analysis.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in relative field, preferrable Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Strong Analytical, communication and team work skills.
- Leadership potential and ability to make an impact
- internship or relevant school/work experience
- Interest in technology and experience with generative AI tools
Our goal is to give you broad exposure to different markets and investment strategies so you can discover where your strengths and interests align. At the end of the two-year program, the intention is to place participants into a permanent position within Securian Asset Management. If no suitable role is available, the program will conclude at that point. We also recognize that career paths can take different directions, and participants may choose to pursue opportunities outside of Securian AM if that better aligns with their long-term goals.
Securian Asset Management believes in hybrid work as an integral part of our culture. Associates get the benefit of working both virtually and in our offices. This position requires you to work within a in a commutable distance (90 minutes) of our Home Office in St. Paul, MN. You’ll join us 3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules. #LI-Hybrid

The estimated base pay range for this job is:
$59,400.00 - $130,600.00
Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
