
Food Process & Operations Coordinator
We’re seeking a reliable, hands-on Food Process & Operations Coordinator to support small-scale production, product testing, and process documentation. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in food science or food engineering who thrives in a startup environment — resourceful, organized, and eager to grow into operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Execute small-batch food manufacturing and packaging according to established SOPs
- Document production data, batch yields, and quality observations
- Coordinate ingredient and packaging inventory; manage vendor communication and purchasing
- Support product development trials under the direction of the product development advisor
- Maintain cleanliness, compliance, and quality standards (GMP/HACCP)
- Assist with scale-up planning and process optimization
- Support fulfillment of research and clinical partner orders
Contribute to efficiency improvements and automation readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology, Food Engineering, or a related field
- 1–3 years’ experience in food production, pilot plant, or process development
- Demonstrated reliability and ability to follow structured processes
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Comfortable operating mixers, dryers, and other small-scale food equipment
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and working on your feet during production
- Calm under pressure; adaptable in a startup setting
Preferred Skills
- Experience with medical nutrition or cpg
- Familiarity with sensory evaluation and quality systems
- Interest in process automation and scaling production
