About the Team + Role

Robinhood’s Treasury Operations team plays a critical role in managing the company’s cash movement, banking infrastructure, and operational controls. We operate at the intersection of financial risk, technology, and business operations. Our mandate is to ensure money moves safely, accurately, and efficiently across Robinhood’s ecosystem while maximizing the capabilities of our new Treasury Management System (TMS).

As a Corporate Treasury Operations Intern, you’ll dive into the behind-the-scenes, technical side of the business—the engine that keeps money moving. You’ll support user acceptance testing (UAT), operational reporting, process improvement initiatives, and the optimization of AI features embedded within the TMS. You don't need to build AI models, but you should be comfortable using AI tools, understanding their capabilities, and identifying opportunities to enhance Treasury workflows.

This is a great role for someone who is technical, curious, and excited to work within a fast-paced operational environment where precision, automation, and business sense matter deeply.

This role is in-person at our Washington, D.C. office at least 3 days per week.

What You Bring

  • Support Treasury Operations workflows, including movements of corporate cash across bank accounts and ensuring accurate, timely settlements.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on the Treasury Management System to validate reporting accuracy, data flows, controls, and enhancements.
  • Write, standardize, and optimize operational reports, including cash flow–related reporting, to support business decisions across multiple teams.
  • Leverage the TMS’s embedded AI chatbot to streamline workflows, identify new use cases, and recommend future enhancements based on business needs.
  • Analyze operational and financial data using database or visualization tools (Superset, Looker, SQL) to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Risk, Ops) to troubleshoot issues, capture requirements, and refine processes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, or control.
  • Monitor Treasury workflows for accuracy and completeness, keeping a business-first mindset around how money moves and where operational risks may arise.

What you’ll do

  • Support the implementation of the Treasury Management System and enhance reporting workflows
  • Conduct financial analysis to help identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Contribute to AI strategy development to improve automation and decision-making across treasury operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather, analyze, and apply data insights
  • Stay up-to-date on market conditions and regulatory changes that may impact Treasury processes

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s in Finance, Financial Engineering, Applied Math, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related technical field (MBA/MSF strongly preferred).
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with experience in risk modeling or data-driven analysis.
  • Ability to write and structure clear, repeatable reports for operational use (this is a critical part of the internship).
  • Experience with data tools such as Superset, Looker, SQL, or similar platforms used for querying or visualizing operational data.
  • Comfort using AI tools (e.g., chatbots, Copilot, ChatGPT) and an ability to articulate how AI has supported your work or improved a process.
  • Interest in operational Treasury work, including understanding how money moves within organizations and why operational controls matter.
  • Strong business sense and maturity — able to operate in a fast-paced corporate environment (experience outside academia or government strongly preferred).
  • Process-driven mindset, ideally with prior exposure to workflow improvement or operational excellence.
  • Bonus Skills (Not Required):
    • Prior Treasury or Financial Risk experience (including internships)
    • Experience with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) — a rare and highly valued “unicorn” skill

What we offer

  • Market competitive compensation structure
  • Quarterly lifestyle wallet for personal wellness, learning and development, and more!
  • Time away including company holidays, paid time off, and sick time!
  • Lively office environment with catered meals, fully stocked kitchens, and geo-specific commuter benefits
