Medical Billing Support Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Support Specialist to support a specialty medical practice with experience in medical billing. This role also requires hands-on familiarity with non-traditional payers- auto, worker’s compensation insurances, attorney involvement, and payer-specific billing workflows.

This can be an entry-level billing role.

Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Claims Support:

• Support billing workflows for: Medical Insurance Billing; Workers’ Compensation; Auto Accident / PIP / MVA; Attorney-represented medico-legal cases
• Prepare, submit, and track claims using eClinicalWorks
• Assist with charge entry, claim follow-up, and payment posting
• Monitor claim status and resolve rejections or delays
• Support appeals, resubmissions, and documentation requests

Insurance, Medico-Legal & Payer Coordination:

• Communicate with: Insurance companies, Insurance adjusters; Third-party administrators (TPAs); Paralegals and Attorneys
• Track authorizations, lien status, and case-specific requirements
• Maintain accurate case notes and payer-specific billing documentation
• Assist with record requests, billing statements, and itemized invoices

Must-Have Qualifications (Required):

• Prior experience in medical billing or billing support
• Hands-on experience with: Workers’ Compensation billing; Auto accident / PIP / MVA billing; Attorney-involved medico-legal cases
• Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks
• Understanding of payer-specific billing rules and workflows
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong computer and EMR software learning and navigation skills

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or surgical practices
• Familiarity with: Liens and letters of protection (LOPs); Delaware-specific WC or PIP billing nuances
• Prior experience working in a physician's office setting

Work Environment:

• Specialty outpatient medical practice
• Heavy documentation-heavy billing environment
• Close collaboration with clinical, administrative, and billing
