Shop Technician / Inventory Clerk

Position Summary

The Shop Technician / Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing all warehouse operations, material control, and equipment organization to support active construction projects. This position ensures accurate inventory tracking, timely material preparation, and an organized, efficient shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and log all incoming materials and deliveries

Track and maintain accurate inventory levels (materials, tools, equipment)

Prepare and stage materials for upcoming projects and deliveries

Load and unload trucks as needed

Coordinate material pick-ups and returns

Maintain organized warehouse storage systems by manufacturer and system

Monitor expiration dates for waterproofing materials and coatings

Maintain tool check-in / check-out logs

Conduct weekly inventory counts and report shortages

Keep shop and yard clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant

Assist project managers with urgent material needs

Maintain company vehicles and equipment logs

Qualifications

Construction or warehouse experience preferred

Basic computer/data entry skills

Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Organized and detail-oriented

Reliable and punctual

Valid driver’s license

Performance Expectations

Zero material shortages due to tracking errors

Accurate inventory reporting

Clean and organized shop at all times

Timely preparation of project start-up materials
