Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Business Development Specialist/Rep. The role involves identifying and generating leads (primarily in person, more below), conducting market research, building and maintaining client relationships, and executing strategies to drive growth.

The primary means of generating business will take place in-person and require traveling to conferences/events/trade shows across the country. Many of these events will require air travel and usually run anywhere from 1-3 days, occasionally over weekends. Traveling to these events and generating leads is absolutely the primary function of this role and what you will focus most of your time on. Depending on the nature of the event, there can be a good bit of social interaction (mixers, dinners, happy hours, etc.) involved-the days can be long! While you’re not travelling, your “day-to-day” activities will not be super complex (hence this being a part time role, at least at first).

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Lead Generation and Market Research to identify opportunities and trends
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members
  • Excellent Analytical Skills to evaluate performance metrics and optimize strategies
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Prior experience in business development or sales, particularly in the marketing or legal industry, is a plus, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a relevant field is preferred
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong communication skills
  • Outgoing, easy to talk to, and having the ability to strike up a conversation with pretty much anyone!

Compensation

  • We're open to discussing/negotiating a pay structure that works for both parties. Our initial thought is to agree on a flat rate per event day (i.e. a daily rate, also covering your travel time) + commission.
  • The majority of your earnings will come from commission, which is uncapped. Commission payments are to be made monthly and will remain in effect as long as a part time employment agreement is active.
  • Ideally, you attend (in conjunction with the business owner/s, at first) roughly 2-3 events per month (conferences/trade shows/networking events). Events usually run anywhere from 1-3 days and occasionally over weekends, most of these will require air travel. The more events you attend, the higher the chances are of building your book of business, and therefore the higher the potential for earnings.
  • A successful rep will have the potential to earn thousands of dollars in commission (month over month) for each client/project they acquire. We are more than happy to provide a further breakdown as part of the interview process.
  • While not a requirement, depending on performance, there is an opportunity for growth into a full time position (salary+benefits).

Hype Legal is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion or belief, sex, age, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, military/veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical or mental disability. We believe in creating a dynamic work environment that values diversity and inclusion.

Hype Legal participates in the E-Verify program to confirm employment authorization of all newly hired employees. The E-Verify process is completed during new hire onboarding and completion of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, at the start of employment. E-Verify is not used as a tool to pre-screen candidates. For more information on E-Verify, please visit www.uscis.gov. A background check may also be required.

*Relocation is not required, we're based in Denver but this is a remote (plus on-site (nationwide) travel) position*
