Quality Control Lab Technician

A GELITA USA Quality Control Lab Technician is responsible for:

• Sample collection and preparation.

• Perform appropriate tests according to established procedures in an efficient, timely, accurate and safe manner.

• Report test results in an accurate and legible manner.

• Interpret data as experience allows to assist in evaluation of data including the reporting of anomalies to QC Management.

• Maintain equipment in good working order including calibration.

• Assist in maintaining inventories of laboratory equipment and supplies.

• Training of other technicians when required.

• Perform basic housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and orderly laboratory.

• Interact with all co-workers in a professional manner.

• Assist in all areas of the laboratory as required.

• Support and follow GELITA USA’s GMP policies.

• Support GELITA USA’s Quality and Food Safety Policy through accurate and timely testing.

• Other Duties as Assigned by QC Management

Job Requirements

The preferred candidate for the Quality Control Lab Technician position will have:

• A High School diploma or GED and one two years college level coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology and/or science related field preferred.

• Experience in a Quality Control laboratory preferred but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.

• Proficiency and the ability to quickly learn programs computer programs and in-house software

• A Quality Control Lab Technician must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Must have a strong work-ethic, be well organized, and have good mathematical skills.

• Must be able to work well as part of a team and on an individual basis.

• A flexible schedule allowing for changes in daily work routines, weekend work and occasional overtime required.

• Person must maintain acceptable attendance requirements with minimal absences and tardiness.

• A Quality Control Lab Technician is expected to learn and grow in their expertise relative to the individual tests and overall goals of the laboratory
