Edgebrook Farm is an NJ-based farm project providing interns with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of a real agricultural operation. We are currently constructing animal housing (including chicken coops) and agricultural habitats like raised beds for high-profile grows, alongside our completed large barn. Edgebrook Farm is seeking motivated candidates for the Architectural Engineering Internship to optimize the structural systems and environmental performance of our buildings.

Pay- In form of food

We are building a farm stand so there is potential for monetary payment in addition to goods.

This internship provides practical experience understanding how structural systems, environmental controls, and architectural aesthetics function together within farm buildings. Participants will have opportunities to integrate ventilation, lighting, and load-bearing designs into functional animal and plant habitats.

Responsibilities:

Design integrated structural systems for optimal airflow and lighting in chicken coops.
Evaluate the thermal performance and insulation needs for diverse animal housing.
Draft architectural and engineering schematics for high-profile raised bed enclosures.
Analyze our existing large barn infrastructure for future utility and system integrations.
Research sustainable building materials that withstand diverse agricultural climates.
Collaborate with construction teams to ensure architectural intent aligns with structural limits.

Qualifications:

Pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Standing of undergraduate sophomore or higher, or current graduate student status.
Interest in building systems, sustainable structures, ventilation, and agricultural design.
Skills in BIM/CAD software (such as Revit or AutoCAD), 3D modeling, and spatial design.
Knowledge of building materials, load paths, or environmental controls is a plus.
