Edgebrook Farm is an NJ-based farm project providing interns with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of a real agricultural operation. We are currently constructing animal housing (including chicken coops) and agricultural habitats like raised beds for high-profile grows, alongside our completed large barn. Edgebrook Farm is seeking motivated candidates for Additional Farm Hands to drive the physical execution, day-to-day operations, and construction assembly on our farm.

Pay- In form of food

We are building a farm stand so there is potential for monetary payment in addition to goods.

This role provides intensive, hands-on experience in farm operations, physical carpentry, livestock management preparations, and agricultural production. Participants will work directly with tools and crops to build out and maintain the farm infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute physical construction and assembly of chicken coops and animal enclosures.
  • Build and fill high-profile raised beds, preparing them for specialized crop cycles.
  • Assist engineering teams by preparing building materials and clearing structural sites.
  • Support general farm operations, including soil management, planting, and harvesting.
  • Maintain farm hand-tools, machinery, and workspace organization across the property.
  • Contribute to daily physical operations to maximize efficiency across all farm habitats.

Qualifications:

  • Open to any major with an undergraduate sophomore standing or higher, or current graduate students.
  • Interest in hands-on labor, building, sustainable farming, and working outdoors.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, handle hand tools safely, and lift building materials.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and capability to collaborate effectively in teams.
  • Previous experience with farming, carpentry, gardening, or landscaping is a plus.

Perks:

  • Compensation including monetary pay, invaluable field experience, and official college credit.
  • Produce privileges allowing you to take home farm vegetables, eggs, and more.
  • Experience developing concrete, physical carpentry and agricultural operations skills.
