Location: Field-based positions in Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa, with openings in the following areas:
- Western Nebraska: Imperial, NE
- Central Kansas: Pratt or Garden City, KS
- Eastern Kansas: Hutchinson, KS
- Central Nebraska: Albion, NE
- Southeastern Nebraska: Hastings, NE
- Eastern Iowa: Missouri Valley, IA
Duration: May 2027 – August 2027
Pay: $20/hour
Schedule: Seasonal, full-time with extended hours during peak periods
About Phytech
Phytech is an AgTech company helping growers improve irrigation efficiency, plant health, crop quality, and yields. Our technology uses proprietary plant-based sensors installed directly on crops such as cotton, corn, and soybeans to measure plant water stress in real time and help growers make data-driven irrigation decisions.
Internship Overview
Are you interested in agriculture, technology, and working in the field?
Our 2027 Seasonal Summer Internship offers college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in precision agriculture while working directly with growers and Phytech's field teams during the growing season.
This is a field-based internship, not a traditional office internship. You will spend much of your time outdoors at active agricultural sites, working with precision agriculture technology and gaining firsthand experience with crop production, irrigation management, field data, and grower relationships.
You will learn how technology is being used in real-world agricultural operations while developing practical skills that can translate into future careers in agriculture, AgTech, agronomy, engineering, environmental science, and related fields.
What You'll Do
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and operation of precision agriculture sensors and equipment
- Support field activities at active grower sites throughout the growing season
- Collect field data and assist with troubleshooting equipment and technology
- Learn how precision agriculture technology is used to support irrigation and crop management decisions
- Gain exposure to irrigation practices, crop production, and agricultural field operations
- Work directly with growers and Phytech team members in the field
- Build professional relationships and provide responsive, professional support to growers
- Support research and development activities related to field operations and agricultural technology
- Help ensure field equipment and installations are operating properly throughout the season

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field
- Interest in agriculture, technology, irrigation, or precision agriculture
- Farming or agricultural field experience is a plus
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Comfortable using technology and learning new tools and systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional and customer-focused approach when working with growers
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, wind, and rain
- Willingness to work extended hours and occasional weekends during peak agricultural periods
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle for work-related travel
Compensation & Benefits
- $20/hour
- Full-time seasonal schedule, May–August 2027
