Veterinary Assistant - Bovine Reproduction
Where: TK Veterinary Service located at 4372 Hwy 49 Glen Ullin, ND 58631
When: May 3rd (or as soon as able) - July 2nd
What: Paid internship including furnished housing at the clinic
Who Should Apply: Students interested in learning about artificial insemination, embryo transfer, bull breeding soundness exams, and overall large animal veterinary work. You will be assisting the veterinarian, technician, assistant, and secretary in our full haul-in clinic as well as mobile clinics for on farm services which include portable hydraulic chutes for handling livestock. There is an opportunity to assist the veterinarian at the livestock auction market. We will teach you techniques in thawing bovine semen and embryos and handling livestock as well as other duties pertinent to Large Animal Vet Med.
- Strong interest in a career working with livestock preferred
- Good driving record required; will be driving a pickup and pulling a chute
- Available to begin work early in the morning
- Must be able to spend long days on your feet
- Rare overnight stay in hotel may be needed while traveling to distant clients
Minimal ranch work available if interested.
