Forestry Technician Intern

Purpose

Forestry Technician Intern for land exams/forest inventory and various silvicultural projects.

Key Responsibilities

Perform land exams and prepare reportsFixed and variable plot forest inventoryAssist with the layout and design of silvicultural projectsPerform roadside and unit herbicide applications for vegetation controlPerform animal damage controlMay provide cross-departmental assistance with harvest unit layout, perennial stream surveys, FRIA Road Inventory, Road Layout and Staking, other Forest Engineering/Forest Operations responsibilitiesModel Company core valuesOther duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Forest Management, Forest Operations Management, Forest Engineering, or Natural Resources Major, has not graduated, and is returning to schoolAbility to work outside in rough terrainA valid driver's license, good driving history & experience with manual shift trucksWorking knowledge of GIS, word processing and spreadsheet computer programsCandidate must be a self-starter and able to work independently or with a crew in a forest environment

Dates of employment:

June 2027 through September 2027 (dates can be flexible to accommodate school schedules)

Wage:

This is an hourly position with a wage commensurate with experience. This is a temporary position and does not qualify for benefits.
