Relocation Specialist - Travel Required

About Us: Management consultancy specializing in Community Development and Real estate projects manages temporary and permanent tenant relocation projects for affordable housing renovation and redevelopment projects throughout the United States.

 

What Are Needs Are: We need a teammate based in the Midwest to manage temporary relocation projects in Illinois, Misouri, and other locations. 

 

No sponsored relocations to the area. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE position or IT contract position. This is boots on the ground working directly with people, not hiding behind a computer wearing your slippers.

 

The Role: A hands-on Relocation Specialist to work with the project team and most importantly, the residents. Residents are low-income residents and public housing residents; many have experienced trauma in their lives.

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with the Project Team to ensure the participation of cross-functional stakeholders in furthering project goals. With organization and prioritization skills, this candidate will organize the necessary pieces to ensure project success, including regulatory compliance. Work with Project Manager to develop, drive, and implement project goals. Work with other relocation specialists to achieve the team goal of delivering the best services to our clients. Work directly with low-income households through the relocation process manage communications and deliverables from all stakeholders for the project. Track project milestones and establish cross-functional partnerships as necessary to ensure project success.

 

Qualifications: A sense of humor. Able to work under less-than-perfect conditions. Must be adaptable to changing schedules, understand actual needs versus nice-to-haves, and balance set requirements with reasonable adaptations to changing situations. Comfort and willingness to work directly with lower-income households, including senior and disabled residents.

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize, Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive. Knowledge and experience with the Uniform Relocation Act (URA) and HUD finance programs are a major plus.

 

This is a contract position. No fringe benefits are included. Work to be done under an Independent Contractor Agreement.
