Councilor

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, Clinician I employees provide psychotherapy, diagnostic assessments, and counseling in the context of the individual, group and family structure, and ensures case management functions are delivered to clients.

DIRECT SERVICE

  • Provides assessments for clients utilizing the DSM-5 assessment tools within 72 hours of referal. Develops a treatment plan for clients and family as needed.
  • Completes an initial client intake that includes client history, mental status exam, presenting problems, CANS/ANSA assessment, and treatment plans.
  • Completes all documentation collaboratively in the electronic medical records system within the same business day.
  • Provide direct individual, group and family therapy in the home, school, and office.  Maintains interaction/communication with client’s family, school, and other providers.
  • Provides skill building services and group therapy.
  • Attends and presents two cases in case consultation meetings with psychiatrist regarding client needs and treatment planning.  Attend All Staff meetings weekly.
  • Maintains treatment involvement with inpatient personnel when the assigned patient is hospitalized, incarcerated and or placed in a residential setting.
  • Refers patients for any additional consultative services, with necessary accompanying information.
  • Participates and prepares for weekly supervision and periodic inservice or administrative meetings. 
  • Consults with referring agency to ensure referring agency program requirements are met.
  • Ensures that clients receive in-home services, psychological testing, random urine screenings, or other test per program requirements and IICP recommendations.
  • Coordinates with co-workers to ensure effective treatment planning.
  • Attend all departmental staff meetings and staffing with the Psychiatrist to discuss problematic cases.  Attend webinars, seminars, and training. Attends and participates in provider fairs and community events as assigned.
  • Always maintain the company’s productivity requirement (100%).
  • Must maintain credentials to satisfy the standards for QBHP (Qualified Behavioral Health Professional) clinical staff professional.
  • Collaborates with local schools and works in school settings.
  • Updates tickler on family drive to ensure active clients receive timely assessments and treatment plan updates.
  • Assists in other departments as needed and/or perform other duties as assigned within the scope of your position.
  • Participates in community outreach events as needed. 

ADMINISTRATIVE 

  • Prepares all pertinent treatment documentation in the patient record/ chart in prescribed time limits (24 hours).
  • Provide administrative documentation in a timely manner.
  • Integrates financial aspect of client’s activities with clinical treatment plans and goals.
  • Follow-up with clients (or refer to Engagement Specialist for follow-up) regarding missed or cancelled appointments via phone calls and/or letters.  Discharge clients per agency’s policy.
  • Writes reports as required on progress of clients efficiently and timely.
  • Required to learn and understand the billing requirement(s) for the services that you are qualified to deliver.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – Master’s degree in social work or mental health discipline
  • Experience Minimum of 2-year experience preferred.
  • Other - Possess a valid driver’s license.
    •  
      • Furnish own inspected, automobile as needed for Center work and transportation of clients.
      • A good driving record.
