The City of Laramie is accepting applications for a part-time weekend (Saturday) opening in the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Greet and interact with customers, vendors and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Determine and collecting charges while balancing cash drawer and ensuring end of day deposit is accurate.
  • Determine if materials are acceptable for disposal and direct to appropriate drop off location.
  • Keep work areas clean and secure.
  • Operate office equipment such as a computer, credit card machine, printer, phone and two-way radio.
  • Answer customer questions about the landfill programs such as disposal, recycling and composting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying):

  • Bookkeeping, clerical or cashier work preferred.
  • Computer experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills required.

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK EVERY SATURDAY.

WORK HOURS ARE SATURDAY FROM 7:45 A.M. TO 4:45 P.M.

There may be an opportunity for additional work hours during the week, however Saturday is required for the scale house.  The additional hours available may be with assisting litter collection at and around the landfill.
