About the Position:
As a Maintenance Worker you will work independently to specifically support, maintain, repair, remodel, and construct the district facilities to include the District Headquarters, Detachment Offices, radio communications tower sites, and commercial truck scales located within District 6. You will be responsible for routine facility maintenance, repairs, most landscaping needs, and at times janitorial cleaning and will provide support to Property Management Facilities Section personnel for District 6 projects as needed.
About the Division: The Field Operations Bureau - District 6 is situated in the north central part of the state with headquarters in Wenatchee. The district provides service in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Kittitas, and Okanogan Counties.
Detachments are located in Ellensburg, Moses Lake, Okanogan, and Wenatchee. The Commercial Vehicle Division Port-Of-Entry Facility is located on I-90 near milepost 80, west of Cle Elum.

Duties
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, improvements, and/or repairs to District 6 facilities (to include plumbing, minor electrical repairs, carpentry, and concrete projects.
- Maintain and improve the District 6 Headquarters grounds “Lawn and surrounding landscape.”
- Perform janitorial skills including sanitizing restrooms, vacuum and cleaning carpets, maintenance and care of ceramic tile and vinyl flooring. Use proper recycling methods.
- Complete administrative reports to document work completed, estimate proposed cost, and schedule improvement/repair projects. Review contracts and work requirements for agency contractors.
- Represent the WSP and deliver professional customer service by positive interaction with customers, vendors, contractors, peers, and other WSP employees.
- Participate in the District Safety Committee to review safety concerns as they relate to the physical facilities within the district.
Work Setting/ Hazards:
Primarily works in an indoor and in outdoor environment performing maintenance and/or janitorial duties. Position performs manual labor in all weather conditions, including landscaping and general maintenance.
Schedule:
Typical work week will consist of a 40 hour work week. May be called in off duty for emergencies.
Travel Requirements:
Position travels around the district in all weather conditions. Occasional statewide travel as directed.
Tools and Equipment:
The district will provide the tools and equipment as deemed necessary to perform the duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted Washington State Driver's License or able to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
- High School graduate or possess a GED or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb a ladder to access roofs to accomplish inspections, work reviews, as well as to perform maintenance.
