Middle School Science Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our middle school faculty at Union Avenue Middle School or University Middle School. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science, fostering critical thinking and a love for inquiry-based learning. The teacher will develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards while accommodating diverse learning styles.

 

Key responsibilities

  • planning and delivery of instructional lessons aligned to state standards;
  • classroom management;
  • laboratory assignments;
  • student support;
  • continued professional learning;
  • collaboration with faculty and administration;
  • assessment and recordkeeping;
  • extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 credits in science;
  • Valid teaching certification in NJ (secondary science cert OR elementary science with middle school science endorsement);
  • Strong knowledge of science and curricular standards;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students;
  • Experience with instructional technology, including online resources.

Salary and benefits: per collective bargaining agreement.
