Ticketing Specialist (Fiscal Analyst 2)

South Seattle College is looking to hire a Ticketing Specialist in the Business & Budgeting Office.

Salary Range for this position is $48,024.00 to $61,296.00 annually, depending on experience.

Position Summary  

Under the supervision of the Associate Director and Director of the Business Office, the Ticketing Specialist will be responsible for processing fiscal transactions within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The position's primary responsibilities include processing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions, reconciling enterprise services daily activity, drafting journal entries (Inter-Department Charges) and administering quarterly part-time faculty contracts. Secondary responsibilities involve supporting purchasing cards, travel compliance, and analysis of the State budgeted accounts.  

Work Modality: This is an in-person, on campus position working Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Vacation request approvals may be limited during the fiscal year-end between the months of June and August.

This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with representation by WFSE and subject to union shop provisions.

What you will be working on:  

  • Performs fiscal duties such as financial report analysis; accounts payable-receivable discrepancy resolution etc.
  • Drafts journal entries (Inter-Department Charges) to correct discrepancies.
  • Reviews enterprise services daily receipts and processes daily batch reconciliation.
  • Processes Accounts Receivable transactions and records deposits to match Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) records.
  • Facilitate the Accounts Payable cycle by performing review and approval of transactions.
  • Support the processing of part-time faculty contracts.
  • Support the Business Office role in administering the purchasing card program.
  • Support travel-related compliance with Office of Fiscal Management and Seattle Colleges policies.
  • Support analysis of the State budgeted accounts and data entry into ERP system
  • Responds to HelpDesk tickets as assigned
  • As directed:

o Review and approve payroll-related documents and deduction forms

o Consult on payroll problems, federal taxes, electronic fund transfers, insurance, and other miscellaneous deductions

o Review, analyze, verify and correct accounting data into the financial system

o Reconcile reserves to agency subsidiary accounting records

o Prepare Fiscal Year end closing adjustment and accrual journal vouchers for revenues, receivables, payables, and supplemental unfunded liability amortization

o Conduct preliminary institution-wide fiscal and administrative evaluations and reviews of grant and contract proposals and negotiate resulting awards

o Review, analyze and audit bank confirmations, receipts, and disbursement, of revenues received

o Project incoming and outgoing cash requirements to determine effects on investments

o Analyze, review, and makes recommendations for the acceleration of revenue transfers

o Authorize adjusting entries between banks or agencies to maintain effective accounting controls

o Lead or supervise clerical, fiscal, budget, or other support staff involved in a variety of manual or automated fiscal recording keeping tasks

   

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)  

  • Bachelor's degree, which includes course completion in accounting, auditing or budgeting AND one of more years of relevant experience professional experience.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for education.
