Salary for this position is $68,507/yr. - $94,606/yr. (DOE)
This is a full-time position scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The schedule may vary depending on program needs. May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Compliance, the Title IX and EEO Coordinator is responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with District Policies and Procedures regarding Discrimination, Harassment, Bullying, and Title IX, Sexual Harassment. The position will provide oversight and coordination of investigation, resolution, and implementation of corrective measures while monitoring the educational environment and workplace to stop, remediate, and prevent discrimination.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Compliance, this position will lead the following in coordination with Seattle Colleges Investigation Specialist and work in collaboration with each College's designated Deputy Title IX and EEO Coordinators.
What you will be working on:
- Accept and process referrals and complaints filed by employees, applicants, students, volunteers, and other members of the College community alleging violations of State and Federal civil rights laws and/or District policies prohibiting discrimination, bullying, and retaliation, including Titles VI and VII of the Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of 1972 Federal Education Amendments, the Americans with Disabilities Act (the ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) amendments to the Clery Act, and Washington's Law Against Discrimination (WLAD).
- Conduct intake meetings with Complainants and, at that time, notify the Complainant or the individual who reported the conduct if the complainant is unknown, of Seattle Colleges' Sex Discrimination investigation and disciplinary procedures, as well as the informal resolution process if appropriate and available.
- Engaging in an interactive process with the parties in cases involving allegations of sex discrimination to identify and provide Supportive Measures that ensure during the investigation and disciplinary processes that the Parties have equitable access to education programs and activities and are protected from further discrimination or retaliation.
- Either conduct an impartial investigation of a complaint or assign the investigation to an impartial investigator and oversee the investigation. This includes scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews, appointments, and/or other similar activities with students and/or employees and/or a person other than a student or employee who was participating or attempting to participate in a Seattle Colleges education program or activity; ensures students and/or employees and/or person other than a student or employee are aware of rights and responsibilities.
- Once investigations are completed, draft investigation determination letters for parties to the investigation.
- A working knowledge of the Family Educational Records and Privacy Act (FERPA) and confidentiality issues related to personally identifiable student information and information contained in employee personnel records.
- Administer the college's procedures and practices to comply with District policies on Discrimination, Harassment, Bullying, and Title IX.
- In accordance with the Seattle Colleges, state, and federal regulations, coordinates the maintenance of confidential records and administrative processes and procedures. Retain investigation files, Complaints, reports, and referrals in compliance with applicable records retention periods or federal or state law, whichever is longer.
- Develop, facilitate, and evaluate training to employees and students regarding Seattle Colleges¿ Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, and Anti-Bullying policies and procedures. Recruit and provide or facilitate training for persons responsible for administering the Seattle Colleges¿ Title IX policy and procedure. Consult and provide guidance to the Seattle Colleges on the development and maintenance of Anti-Discrimination, Anti-Harassment, Anti-Bullying, and Title IX websites and literature, and oversee compliance with federal and state civil rights notice requirements.
- Serve as a resource and support to staff, faculty, and students on issues related to sex discrimination and sex-based harassment under Title IX, as well as discrimination and harassment involving other protected classes and bullying.
- Recommend non-disciplinary corrective measures to stop, remediate, and/or prevent the recurrence of discriminatory conduct to disciplinary authorities and other Seattle Colleges administrators.
- Collaborate with the Public Records Manager on related public records requests.
- As required, serve on the Seattle Colleges CARE Teams.
- Effectively utilize the Maxient case management system for processing discrimination referrals and complaints, distributing and investigation reports, and coordinating workflow for reporting, recordkeeping, and monitoring.
- Remain current, trained, and informed on standards, best practices, laws, and policies that affect the practice of nondiscrimination, anti-harassment and anti-bullying, and Title IX, emerging strategies and interventions, and research at the local, state, federal, and international levels, supporting the reduction of threats to the campus community and connecting students and employees of concern to the supports necessary to enable their retention and success
- Participate in and represent Seattle Colleges at higher education civil rights conferences and meetings. Serve on college, regional, and state-wide committees related to civil rights issues as necessary and appropriate.

What you bring as a candidate:
- Bachelor's degree and (2) or more years of responsible experience in Nondiscrimination and/or Title IX compliance, including assessment, investigations, and adjudicative hearings, or similar investigative and adjudicative hearings experience; or equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, inclusion, and equity through past experience and education
- Ability to work independently and as a team member; exercise independent judgment and take initiative.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nondiscrimination laws and compliance regulations including but not limited to: Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) amendments to the Clery Act, FERPA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended), Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975.
- Organized and detail-oriented; ability to set priorities and coordinate activities.
- Possess diplomacy and demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards, high quality and standard of work, and discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels under stressful circumstances.
- Understanding and experience with conflict resolution, restorative justice, and trauma-informed interview and investigation techniques.
- Experience with Maxient or similar case management software.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to undertake the duties of the position impartially.
Physical Requirements:
- Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to Perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
- Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
- It is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
