Job Description
Overseas Pharmaceuticals LLC., a San Diego-based specialty company focusing on controlled release oral dosage forms of pharmaceutical formulation development and GMP manufacturing of clinical trial materials, is seeking one or more research assistants to join our expanding R&D team. Overseas Pharmaceuticals LLC utilizes extensive experience and proprietary technologies to solve issues of drug insolubility, instability, poor absorption, and other drug formulation challenges.
A successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of general chemistry and has experience in a chemistry laboratory setting. This position can be full-time or part-time depending on the individual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the supervising scientist and work independently to complete individual formulation development or manufacturing projects for the company.
- Prepare formulations with instructions and/or perform analyses of formulated drug products by using analytical instrumentations such as HPLC, LC-MS, KF, viscometer, and osmometer.
- Prepare presentations of data and progress and assist in regular presentations to external and internal during formulation development projects
- Maintain and ensure a safe laboratory environment and work practices
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies (employee- or laboratory-based) and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry or related chemistry field required
- 1+ years' experience in a chemistry laboratory setting required (college laboratory courses are acceptable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
