Job Overview: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain databases while ensuring flexibility and efficiency for future updates. This role requires someone who can write reusable and scalable code, construct robust data pipelines, and integrate systems through APIs. The primary goal of this position is to build robust database system and connect various systems to a large language model (LLM) for ease of access to information. This solution will be used internally and offered to our existing client base. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Database Design & Management: Design, develop, and maintain efficient databases using tools such as MySQL and SQLite.
  • Data Pipelines: Create scalable and reusable ETL pipelines to handle data transformation, updating, and integration across various systems.
  • API Integration: Develop and manage APIs to connect databases with external applications, ensuring seamless data exchange.
  • Code Optimization: Write clean, modular, and reusable code that is easy to maintain and adapt for future changes or updates.
  • Data Maintenance: Regularly clean, update, and manage data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align database functionalities with project requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for code, pipelines, and database systems to support future development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve system performance and scalability.

Job Requirements:  

  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and database systems like MySQL and SQLite.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining reusable ETL pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of API development and integration with databases.
  • Practical experience working on real-world projects outside of academic coursework.
  • Strong coding habits, emphasizing modularity, reusability, and organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for building efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Ability to write flexible code that can accommodate future updates or changes in data requirements.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong drive to build and develop impactful projects.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in the interior design industry is a plus but not required.
