Investment Officer I, Investment Operations
The CalSTRS Investments Branch is seeking an experienced individual to work as an Investment Officer I on the Investment Operations team.
Investment Operations provides operational services and oversight across all asset classes of the Investments Branch. This includes pre-settlement and post-trade portfolio controls, trade and cash flow management, portfolio setup and onboarding, and total fund reporting. Additionally, the team serves as a control function to protect the total plan and mitigate operational and custodial risk.
Under the direction of the Associate Portfolio Manager, the incumbent provides investment and financial knowledge to staff and management, assists with overseeing the operational complexities in managing the CalSTRS’ Investment Portfolio and performs a wide range of analytical and technical work to support the functions of Investment Operations. The incumbent is expected to perform duties requiring independence, confidentiality, creativity and discretionary judgment.

- Knowledge of investment principles and practices
- Knowledge of accounting treatment and valuation of private assets
- Investment operations and fund accounting experience
- Experience with financial statement analysis
- Experience performing complex research assignments
- Experience with internal controls, audits and reconciliations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to research, analyze, and interpret information
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of staff

An incumbent who possesses a professional certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) may receive a 5% monthly base pay differential.
Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
