Part-Time Event Assistant
We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Part-Time Event Assistant to support various events in New York City and Westchester. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, experience working with children and adults, and a passion for ensuring events run smoothly. As an Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding experiences to participants and attendees.
Responsibilities:
- Event Sign-In: Greet participants and attendees, check them in, and provide necessary information about the event schedule, rules, and facilities.
- Customer Service: Assist participants and attendees with any inquiries, concerns, or issues they may have during the event. Provide friendly and professional support to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
- Problem Solving: Be proactive in identifying and resolving potential issues or challenges that may arise during the event, ensuring seamless event operations.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist in various administrative duties, including handling paperwork, managing registrations, and maintaining event records.
- Answering Phones: Handle incoming calls related to event inquiries, providing accurate information and directing callers to the appropriate contact when necessary.
- Data Entry: Accurately input participant and event-related data into databases or spreadsheets as required.
- Basic Knowledge of Tennis Rules and Tournaments: Familiarity with tennis rules and tournament formats is beneficial to efficiently assist players and event organizers.
Requirements:
- Excellent Customer Service Skills: A friendly and approachable demeanor with the ability to handle participants and attendees with professionalism and empathy.
- Experience with Children and Adults: Prior experience working with both children and adults in a professional setting, demonstrating adaptability and communication skills with diverse age groups.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly identify and resolve issues during events.
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel) for administrative tasks and data entry.
- SafePlay Certification: Applicants aged 18 years and above must hold a valid SafePlay certification or be willing to obtain it before employment commences.
- Flexibility: Must be available to work part-time and have the willingness to adapt to varying event schedules and locations.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with event organizers, staff, and volunteers to ensure the success of each event.
- Tennis Knowledge (a plus): Basic knowledge of tennis rules and tournament structures will be advantageous in supporting participants and addressing their queries.
This position is currently part-time, with the potential for full-time opportunities in the future based on performance and event demand.
