This posting will be used for on-going recruitment and will remain open until filled. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.
Why does the job exist?
This position exists to provide administrative assistance to Medical Director. Duties include medical transcription, generating billing codes for physician encounters, assists with maintenance of the facility's medical records by auditing, filing, sorting and ordering proper forms.
How does it get done?
Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, and medical information of our patients. Interfaces with insurance company personnel through phone, fax, mail, e-mail correspondence.
Who are the customers?
New Mexico Rehabilitation Center staff and patients.
Ideal Candidate
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Speak clearly and concisely over the phone. Worked with confidential files or data. Worked on multiple projects at the same time.
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of related experience in office administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field andor direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to criminal background check pursuant to NM Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC), and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate within 45 days as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions
Work will be performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to thirty, (30) pounds may be required. Effective 01/01/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus.
