District Kids: Center for Minds and Hearts is seeking a part-time, DC-licensed therapist (LPC, LCSW, LICSW, or Psychologist) who is eager to join our team. Start date ASAP.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual (and potentially group) evidence-based psychotherapy for child and adolescent clients for 2-3 days a week (3-5 clients per day), during the school day and after school
  • Consulting and collaborating with teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other mental health providers
  • Preferred hours are 12 PM to 6 PM, 3-4 days per week.

  • Supporting with the administration of Assessments (if experience aligns)
  • In person at our NW DC office

Ideal candidates:

  • DC Licensed mental health professional
  • Masters or Doctorate level clinician preferred
  • 2+ years of experience providing therapy or counseling to children and adolescents
  • Experience in schools, and/or with children with learning differences, preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and interest in supporting students using a lens of identity, evidenced based, and trauma informed practice
  • Commitment to ongoing, reflective practice and experience with clients who identify with the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities
  • Excellent collaborative skills

District Kids: Center for Minds and Hearts is a creative group practice consisting of social workers, educational therapists, educators, and school psychologists who provide therapy, assessment, and intervention services to children, adolescents and adults. We are committed to supporting children and families using a collaborative approach that blends creativity, evidenced based practice, animal assisted interventions, tailored academic and emotional support of clients.  Our office is located in NW DC in the Chevy Chase, DC neighborhood.  We are accessible by public transportation.
