Performance Coach

Location: Ft Lauderdale

 

Hours: Tentatively 7AM-3PM (approximately 20-30 hours a week dependent on availability)

 

Compensation: $25/hr

 

Job Description: We are seeking a performance coach to work at one of our contract sites. This site is a law enforcement agency and you will have to pass a background check if hired. The position will involve assisting in managing a performance facility which may include but is not limited to the following:

 

-Fitness Assessments such as body composition, endurance testing, weight training, etc.

-Instructing group training classes

-Assisting with attendees questions and needs

-Conducting Mindset Management Sessions (this is a measure of HRV and cognitive testing)

-Hold 1 on 1 consults

-Program Design

-Facility maintenance

 

Qualifications:

 

Education and Certifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Psychology, or a related field (required).

-Certification in personal training, strength and conditioning, or a similar field (e.g., NASM, NSCA, ACE) (preferred).

-Certification or training in mental performance coaching or stress management (e.g., HRV Biofeedback, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, etc.) (preferred).

 

Experience:

-At least 1-2 years of experience in fitness coaching, personal training, or performance coaching.

-Experience working with law enforcement, military, or other high-performance populations (preferred).

-Experience in conducting fitness assessments and designing individualized training programs.

-Familiarity with mindset management techniques, including HRV monitoring and cognitive performance testing (preferred).

 

Skills and Abilities:

-Strong understanding of human physiology, biomechanics, and psychology as they relate to performance enhancement.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to instruct, motivate, and support individuals in group and one-on-one settings.

-Ability to design and implement tailored fitness programs that incorporate physical training, mental skills, and stress management techniques.

-Proficient in conducting fitness assessments such as body composition analysis, endurance testing, and weight training evaluations.

-Comfortable leading group training sessions and providing personalized coaching.

-Ability to maintain a clean and organized facility, ensuring all equipment is in proper working order.

 

Other Requirements:

-Must be able to pass a background check due to working in a law enforcement environment.

-Availability to work during the specified hours (3 PM - 7 PM) with flexibility for 8-20 hours per week depending on availability.

-Commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor and upholding the standards of Mind.Body.1. while interacting with clients and colleagues.

 

Physical Requirements:

-Must be able to lift and move equipment, and actively participate in fitness activities.

-Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods during training sessions.
