Exercise Physiology Rehabilitation Specialist
A Rehabilitation Specialist at The Winchester Institute is responsible for developing and implementing rehabilitation programs for patients and athletes recovering from injury, working on prevention, or managing chronic conditions. This role involves direct patient care, providing individualized treatment plans designed to restore function, improve mobility, and enhance overall physical health.
The specialist will collaborate closely with Chiropractors and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of rehabilitation principles, a commitment to patient well-being, and the ability to adapt treatment strategies to meet each patient's unique needs.

Requirements of Position:
- Bachelor’s degree in an exercise related field
- Accreditation by a personal training certification or clinical exercise certification process (i.e., ACSM or NSCA)
- Intermediate knowledge of the following:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching
- Myofascial Release (MFR) – Foam Roll
- Stretching/Partner Stretching
- Muscle Activation
- Functional Movement
- Neuromusculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and terminology
- Gonstead Chiropractic methodology and technique
- Proficient in operating ChiroTouch software required for charting and billing purposes
- Comfort providing direct care to patients of various age groups
- Intermediate knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the Rehabilitation Department
- Intermediate knowledge of all equipment used in the Rehabilitation Department
- Possess exceptional communication and motivational skills to effectively guide patients in understanding and completing a proper course of active rehabilitation
- CPR Certification – preferred for all staff
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in meetings and reply to email memos facilitated by the Rehabilitation Team Manager as needed
- Proactively ensure all equipment used by the Rehabilitation Team meets our quality standards
- All equipment should remain operative, aesthetically pleasing, and clean
- Should equipment need serviced or replaced, it is the Rehabilitation Specialist’s responsibility to inform the Rehabilitation Team Manager
- Responsible for the cleaning of the studio and equipment, ensuring all areas are maintained to meet the highest quality and hygiene standards
- Ensure copies of exercises, handouts, and evaluation forms are readily available and meet the highest quality standards

- Manage the assessment, design, and implementation of individualized exercise and rehabilitation programs for individuals dealing with acute and chronic pain, as well as for those seeking preventative care
- Facilitate communication between Chiropractors and Rehabilitation Specialists, ensuring proper documentation, coding, and notation compliance while coordinating patient symptom progress and continuum of care
