
Pediatric ophthalmology medical assistant
Pediatric ophthalmology office seeks a reliable and mature ophthalmic technician or medical assistant to help our team provide outstanding medical and surgical eye care to children in a fun and positive work environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a GAP year student to obtain experience for any graduate level healthcare program.
You will learn all aspects of a medical and surgical office while we coach and train for a very useful clinical experience that will strongly support any pre-health application.
There are also clinical research opportunities.
Part time hours are 31.5 hours a week:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 - 4:45 with a 30-45 minute lunch
Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 - 1:00
Flex time hours are not available.
Only applicants who can commit at least 9 - 12 months or more to the position will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Learning high-level medical assisting in the exam rooms
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Entering patient information using LYTEC practice management
- Letter transcription (equivalent to scribing experience)
- Opportunity to learn surgery scheduling and medical billing
- General front office duties
Requirements for position:
- 4-year college degree or medical office experience preferred
- A friendly, people-oriented disposition
