Reports to: Principal, K-8
Job Summary
TKA is a Christ-Centered school grounded in a Biblical worldview, and we are looking for an Assistant Elementary Principal who is a follower of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to the school’s Christ-Centered mission. The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate the academic program for grades K-5 and to assist in the supervision and mentoring of faculty.
Essential Job Functions
Management and Professional Development
- Supervises, mentors, and evaluates Elementary School teachers
- Coaches teachers in best practices for instruction and assessment
- Participates in the interview panel for all Elementary teaching candidates
- Facilitates Elementary team meetings
- Plans and oversees professional development including in-service days for Elementary School
- Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum & Instruction on textbook ordering
- Oversees the Elementary School front desk staff and Director of Extended Care
Administration
- Guides the school community in the collaborative process of gathering and analyzing data, and make recommendations for needed change
- Oversees the action plan committee meetings (continuous school improvement)
- Oversee the daily operation of the Elementary School
- Execute Elementary School initiatives under the direction of the K-8 Principal
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction or similar field
- Masters degree preferred
- 4+ years experience in administration required
- 8+ years experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership qualities and mentoring skills
- Excellent skills in communicating both orally and in written form
- Able to work both independently and in a team setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example
- Proficient with Google Suite and Apple as TKA is an Apple Distinguished School
- Ability to learn new computer software systems

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Required to use the computer throughout the day
- Work will be performed from the campus
- Will move throughout the campus during the day
- May occasionally have to lift up to 20-pounds
- Work is generally performed, Year-Round, TBD
- This position will occasionally require you to work nights, weekends and overnights (for trips/events). As much advance notice as possible will be provided.

Pay Grid Range: $65,495 to $93,562
- This position is paid based on a preset salary grid, and the actual salary will be determined by applicable education and experience as determined by the Human Resources department. The starting pay listed reflects this position's minimum experience and education requirements. The top pay range represents the top of the pay grid for this position. It is rare for a candidate to enter this position at the top of the pay grid. Most candidates can expect to enter in the lower to middle section of the pay grid, depending on experience and education.
