Property Manager - Sorority House Director (Live-In), Utah State University

The Kappa Delta Sorority House at Utah State University is looking for a live-in House Director for the 2025 Spring Semester beginning immediately with the possibility of extending to the 2025-26 academic year. The House Director will work to ensure a safe, comfortable and well-maintained home away from home for 24 collegian residents. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the chapter facility. This position may be perfect for a mature female graduate student, remote worker or retiree. We will consider a married couple for this role if married for more than one year.

  • Compensation includes free room and board with a private suite with a bedroom, office, sitting room and bath, shared kitchen and laundry facilities. All utilities, WIFI, 11 meals per week (4 dinners Mon-Thurs and 7 breakfasts), two campus adjacent parking spots, plus a modest monthly stipend, in an alcohol, drug, smoke, firearms and pet-free home. No children are allowed to live in the KD House. The House Director’s flexible schedule allows for outside employment in addition to your duties You may take residence immediately upon hire.

Under the direction of the alumnae led House Corporation Board, this Jill-of-all-trades will:

  • Reside in the house seven nights per week during the school term with the option of nights off with prior arrangements for coverage.
  • Conduct nightly chore completion checks to ensure all areas are clean per guidelines.
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance at the chapter facility. Be present to let workers in and ensure work is completed as requested.
  • Conduct regular safety and maintenance inspections and report issues for resolution to the Board officer.
  • Work with chapter leadership in handling any emergency situations.
  • Ensure outside maintaince is done including mowing, weeding and walkway and parking lot snow removal.
  • Purchase groceries for breakfast and household supplies weekly within a budget and report monthly.
  • Host Monday-Thursday dinners each week.
  • Enforce the house rules and promote gracious living standards in partnership with chapter officers.
  • Be proactive and responsive to residents and alumnae in communicating the status of house maintenance and other issues.
  • Coordinate opening and closing of the house and the resident move-in and move-out process.
  • Communicate regularly with collegiate house manager chapter president and alumnae House Corporation Board members. Attend meetings as needed.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to our college age residents.

Qualifications

  • Previous property management/RA and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Have a keen attention to detail and the ability to recognize maintenance/repair issues.
  • Ability to maintain composure during stressful or emergency situations.
  • Experience mentoring/interacting positively with young adults.
  • Must maintain current COVID-19 vaccination status and support all COVID-19 protocols for the facility.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs and climb stairs easily to perform daily duties.
  • A background check is required.
  • Greek affiliation is a plus.
